SINUSITIS

by Dr. Rajesh Shah

Definition:
Sinus means cavity, especially a cavity of the skull bone. Sinusitis means inflammation of the sinus linings. The phrase Sinusitis is used more commonly for inflammatory disorder of one or more of the skull sinuses, more of maxillary sinus. Either infection or allergy may lead to the sinusitis, giving rise to symptoms of thin or thick nasal discharge, congestive headache or face ache, nose-block, fever, etc.

Remarks:
Frequency of chronic sinusitis is common with those individuals who have a proneness to have attacks of sinusitis, basically due to inherent tendency. What needs to be treated is not only the acute infection or inflammation, but inherent tendency to have sinusitis.
Individual tendency to frequent upper respiratory infections or sinusitis can best be treated with homoeopathic approach of individual based treatment.

Suggestion about homeopathic treatment:
Recurring sinusitis finds wonderful treatment with homoeopathy. Homoeopathy treats acute infections as well as the tendency to have infections or allergy. It is almost always possible to avoid antibiotics and sinus surgery if one adopts homoeopathic alternative.

Homoeopathy is strongly indicated for sinusitis.
